Italy, its traditions and culture pull on my heart strings, enticing me back there as often as possible. Olive trees are revered and admired, they are tended to diligently. In late autumn the family come together for the olive harvest and everyone enjoys the green/gold liquor straight from the first pressing. Robust leaves cling to their branches giving colour and atmosphere in the olive groves all year round - they are consistent and reliable.
I love to photograph and draw these beauties and my observations develop into unique silver jewellery pieces, as classic and enduring as their muse.
This one-off piece has been created using traditional silver-smithing techniques. The recycled silver has been oxidised to reflect the graphite lines I have drawn with. The necklace is hallmarked and it arrives carefully presented in a slide open gift box.
This pendant is 15 x 6 cm and is suspended on a 22 cm silver chain.
