A life size study of the Yellow Wax Cap, a fungi specimen that can found in fields and grasslands across Britain and Europe.
The fungi have been hand carved from old book pages and covered with recycled tissue paper to create the cap and gills. The stalk is made from paper mache and the whole thing painted with water colours to create a more realistic and vibrant colour.
The frames are handmade for each display from solid wood and glass. This particular frame has been made from Ash wood and lightly oiled. It has a wire on the back so it will hang from a wall or can stand on a shelf or mantelpiece.
It measures 18 x 18 x 3.5cm.
Commissioning a piece of work is really exciting – it is a chance to have something made especially for you and an opportunity to really engage in the creative process.
Perhaps you need accessories to go with a particular outfit or a piece of furniture to fit a specific space in your home. We can work with you to design something truly unique. You’ll be able to discuss your ideas, likes and dislikes with the Maker and together create a piece of craft, handmade for you.
This is just a first step, so don't worry, there’ll be plenty of chances to discuss details before finalising a commission.
