Perfect to use as plates to eat from or to present food... These hand turned plates are made from either a Sycamore tree that was removed by tree surgeons in north Manchester on the edge of ancient woodland (as Sycamore is a non-native species) or from UK grown Olive Ash that was milled and dried in Knutsford.
These plates were turned on a vintage Viceroy lathe, made in Leeds. In the tradition of pole lathe turning, the tool marks are left on the plates. The plates are wonderfully smooth, yet no sanding is performed - this is to accentuate the tactile surface of the wood.
Finished with a hand rubbed food safe linseed oil/beeswax mixture.
