This thin walled vessel is handmade from a unique piece of Ash. Fungal attack gave it beautiful black patterns and it was cut to emphasise the ripple where two branches joined. This creates further streaks of golden chatoyance (a natural reflective effect which gives the illusion of movement).
The tree was from the edge of Dartmoor.
The shape makes this piece super tactile and the wood has been sealed with 3 coats of Danish oil and protected with microcrystalline wax.
This wooden vessel is 100mm diameter and 100mm high.
**Proceeds from sales of Adam's work fund his son cyclist Ben Cornish’s journey toward the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. Ben is 16 and on the GB Cycling Team but doesn’t receive funding until he’s 18yrs. In 2023 Ben had two international wins, five podiums and was 5th in the UCI World Championships. He also became the u19 National Champion - his 3rd consecutive national title.
