These ear studs are made from 925 silver with 24ct gold foil highlight using the ancient Korean technique of Keum Boo.
The silver is annealed to bring a fine silver layer to the surface, which is then slightly removed using pumice powder. This process is repeated a number of times until the surface is ready to receive the 24ct gold foil. Each piece of gold foil is cut by hand and placed on the silver then, with a controlled heat, the foil is then fused to the silver.
These studs measure approximately 7mm x 7mm.
Please note: as weight is below 7.78 grams they are therefore exempt from hallmarking, as per the Hallmarking Act 1973 and subsequent amendments.
As each piece is handmade yours will vary slightly from those pictured. The size and shapes of the 24ct gold will vary with each pair.
