As often as I can, I escape to a little corner of rural Italy where we have been bringing an old olive grove back to life. It’s been labour of love and now feel that I know these trees intimately - their gnarled trucks supporting a great bounty hidden amongst the abundant leaves.
I draw inspiration from these friends and create silver jewellery to honour their endurance. I have made photographs and drawings, observing the flow, movement and angles of the olive leaves: from these drawings in combinations with the innate qualities of silver wire, I develop my wearable designs. Each piece is unique, made with recycled silver using traditional silversmithing techniques.
This is a one-off oxidised silver necklace, handmade from recycled silver using traditional silversmithing techniques.
The work is Hallmarked and arrives beautifully presented in a slide opening gift box.
The olive branch piece is 12.5 x 6 cm and hangs on 22 cm oxidised silver chain.
Commissioning a piece of work is really exciting – it is a chance to have something made especially for you and an opportunity to really engage in the creative process.
Perhaps you need accessories to go with a particular outfit or a piece of furniture to fit a specific space in your home. We can work with you to design something truly unique. You’ll be able to discuss your ideas, likes and dislikes with the Maker and together create a piece of craft, handmade for you.
This is just a first step, so don't worry, there’ll be plenty of chances to discuss details before finalising a commission.
