A tiny one-off, free-standing paper sculpture made from altered books and wire. This piece of book art is part of Betty's 'Living on the Edge' series - a small, paper world that teeters on the edge...

Edgar, truth be told, was a little bit odd. He lived completely alone on a fragment of porcelain that had once washed up on a beach in Suffolk. He enjoyed going through the morning papers with a big red marker pen angrily crossing out the things he didn’t agree with, of which there were many. Then he’d spend the afternoon poring over the lonely hearts column and writing them all replies stating why he thought they were better off alone…

This little sculpture measures 40mm high x 25mm wide x 30mm deep.
