This decorative lighthouse is inspired by my local lighthouse in the village of Mumbles, South Wales, which I pass on a daily basis during my walk. It has been cut in ocean blue paper, or you may choose to have it cut from black paper (see options above). The splash of yellow is hand collaged and varies slightly with each piece.
Each of my designs is cut by hand before I decide whether or not I like it enough to laser cut it in an edition of 100. The papercut is then relief mounted onto acid free mount board to create shadows and give an illusion of depth.
It will be supplied to you unframed in a protective cello bag and I recommend a simple box or shadow frame as it keeps the glass away from the paper. (This size is designed to perfectly fit an Ikea ribba frame).
The image size is approx 12cm x 12cm and the overall size of the picture including mount is 23cm x 23cm.
It will be wrapped in tissue paper and delivered in a slim box to protect it during transit.
Commissioning a piece of work is really exciting – it is a chance to have something made especially for you and an opportunity to really engage in the creative process.
Perhaps you need accessories to go with a particular outfit or a piece of furniture to fit a specific space in your home. We can work with you to design something truly unique. You’ll be able to discuss your ideas, likes and dislikes with the Maker and together create a piece of craft, handmade for you.
This is just a first step, so don't worry, there’ll be plenty of chances to discuss details before finalising a commission.
