A lilac Fibre Cap and Amethyst Deceiver, both common in Europe and can be found growing in coniferous and deciduous woodland.
The fungi have been hand carved from old book pages and covered with recycled tissue paper to create the cap and gills. The stalk is made from paper mache and the whole thing painted with water colours to create a more realistic and vibrant colour. The leaves and undergrowth around the base of the fungi were made from an old envelope and book pages that was hand stitched to create their patterns and veins.
The frames are handmade for each display from solid wood and glass. This particular frame has been made from Ash wood and lightly oiled. It measures 24cm x 26cm and has a wire on the back so it will hang from a wall or can stand on a shelf or mantel piece.
Commissioning a piece of work is really exciting – it is a chance to have something made especially for you and an opportunity to really engage in the creative process.
Perhaps you need accessories to go with a particular outfit or a piece of furniture to fit a specific space in your home. We can work with you to design something truly unique. You’ll be able to discuss your ideas, likes and dislikes with the Maker and together create a piece of craft, handmade for you.
This is just a first step, so don't worry, there’ll be plenty of chances to discuss details before finalising a commission.
