Handmade designer perspex earrings made using actual skeleton leaves. My unusual plant jewellery is created by collecting, drying and pressing the individual leaves or grasses into acrylic. Every detail of the flowers and leaves are captured so they are like a fossil or a memory of the plant.
The acrylic is heated and the leaves are pressed into its surface. I then use them like a stencil to apply the colours. The leaves are peeled off to reveal the unique, colourful design. I call this method 'Fossilised Plastic' due to the fine detail that's possible to capture on the embossed surface.
These orange and black botanical statement earrings evoke both a contemporary and a vintage feel, appealing to mothers, girlfriends, sisters and friends alike.
These 100% recycled acrylic earrings measure 65mm x 12mm and 5mm deep. The total drop is 90mm. The ear wires are made from sterling silver.
Commissioning a piece of work is really exciting – it is a chance to have something made especially for you and an opportunity to really engage in the creative process.
Perhaps you need accessories to go with a particular outfit or a piece of furniture to fit a specific space in your home. We can work with you to design something truly unique. You’ll be able to discuss your ideas, likes and dislikes with the Maker and together create a piece of craft, handmade for you.
This is just a first step, so don't worry, there’ll be plenty of chances to discuss details before finalising a commission.
