A one-of-a-kind mixed media sculpture by Shirley Vauvelle handmade from driftwood, a wooden block, steel wire and hand built earthenware components.
Inspired by a box of unloved children's wooden building blocks and memories of the tactile joy of creating little worlds of simple shapes, different heights and apertures.
Shirley has kept this design simple and pared back and given the wooden block a coat of chalk paint, creating a Scandinavian feel and focusing on the soft colours and details in the hand built ceramic components.
This charming freestanding sculpture is stamped with Shirley's maker's stamp and measures 10.5 x 19.5cm.
