A framed embroidered artwork based on the landscape of the North Yorkshire Moors National Park. The changes of the seasons are my favourite time on the Moors, watching the colours turn and seeing the furry mounds of heather die back leaving roots and peat poking through.
I've used silk, barkcloth and linen fabrics to block in swathes of moorland colour. I've then picked out embroidered details with darning threads, pearls cottons and embroidery silks to create structure and depth, concentrating on the sky and its movement in the moment.
This piece is supplied mounted framed and glazed in a hand painted frame. Artwork size: 15cm x 15cm, mounted size: 23cm x 23cm, framed size: 24cm x 24cm.
