This is a hand-thrown general purpose bowl - perfect for soup, dessert or cereal. It is coated with 2 different glazes made from wood ash from the pottery stove.
The glazes move on the pot causing variegation to the surface, running to a green glass, pooling inside and at the bottom of the bowl where the glaze is thicker. The bowl also has an attractive un-glazed foot which is brushed with an iron rich clay slip, made from clay dug from the ditch just outside the pottery workshop.
The bowl is stoneware and has been high fired to 1300˚C in a large wood-fired kiln.
It is highly individual and completely unique, in stock and available for immediate dispatch. It measures 7.5cm high and 16cm wide.
Please do get in touch if you are interested in grouping this bowl with others similar, to make a set.
