A unique, collectible piece of artwork that can be worn as a brooch, lapel pin, a pin for a scarf or tie, on a hat, or head scarf, and when not in use they double up as a picture you can display on your wall, mantel or dressing table.
They are great conversation starters and really create a statement anywhere you display them.
This Andy Warhol brooch is a one-off. Drawing from my fine art background, I treat thread as though it were paint. The layers are built up to create texture, tone and depth in the facial features.
The base fabric is cotton and I have hand stitched with cotton, linen, acrylic, rayon, wool and silk threads sourced from independent and vintage sellers.
It has a fabric backing with a safety pin. Approximate dimensions: 8cm x 5.5cm.
I no longer do commissions on stitched work and there's only one Andy Warhol available.
Commissioning a piece of work is really exciting – it is a chance to have something made especially for you and an opportunity to really engage in the creative process.
Perhaps you need accessories to go with a particular outfit or a piece of furniture to fit a specific space in your home. We can work with you to design something truly unique. You’ll be able to discuss your ideas, likes and dislikes with the Maker and together create a piece of craft, handmade for you.
This is just a first step, so don't worry, there’ll be plenty of chances to discuss details before finalising a commission.
