Tracey Falvey

After graduating in 2013 with a first class BA(Hons) Jewellery and Silversmithing from Plymouth College of Art, Tracey set up her studio near Fowey in Cornwall and since then has exhibited and supplied galleries throughout the UK.

Her work explores the concepts of adornment and its value in terms of reinvention by reclaiming scrap silver. Using sculpture and architecture as aesthetic inspiration, she creates over-sized chunky pieces, each having its own personality. Working mainly in recycled and reclaimed silver she individually shapes each piece with overlapping edges and visible seams, giving the work a unique geometric quality.

Leaving the central part of the piece empty creating a ‘void’, she then applies a highly pigmented acrylic resin spray paint to highlight the interior.

Colours range from vibrant contrasting brights and fluorescents to pale smudgy pastels.
