I design and make wearable wool jewellery and hair accessories inspired by my vintage collections and a quirky sense of humour. My jewellery is based loosely on an imaginary garden crossed with a delicious haberdashery shop. The work is strongly coloured and has a delightful nostalgic charm.
I have been in business for nearly 16 years since graduating from the Royal College of Art in 2000 where I studied Constructed textiles. I had previously gained a BA(Hons) from Edinburgh College of Art in Printed Textiles. I decided to wing it and have a go at setting up on my own after Tricia Guild of ‘Designers Guild’ bought one of my pieces at the RCA show giving a boost to my confidence!
I have since returned to Edinburgh where I work from a studio in my home in Portobello. My work is for sale in the UK, USA and Canada.
Commissioning a piece of work is really exciting – it is a chance to have something made especially for you and an opportunity to really engage in the creative process.
Perhaps you need accessories to go with a particular outfit or a piece of furniture to fit a specific space in your home. We can work with you to design something truly unique. You’ll be able to discuss your ideas, likes and dislikes with the Maker and together create a piece of craft, handmade for you.
This is just a first step, so don't worry, there’ll be plenty of chances to discuss details before finalising a commission.
