Kate Kelly - Kaper

I create wall art and free standing sculptures inspired by the Great Outdoors. My paper sculptures are made with hand printed papers, using mono screen printing techniques. They are varnished with a UV protective lacquer, which seals their edges and keeps them easy to care for – a tickle with a duster every now and then is all they need.

They are designed by hand, with a ruler and protractor, using recycled 300 gsm card stock, which is really sturdy and has a lovely texture. Strength and durability are foremost in my mind when I’m designing, so that my sculptures can stand the test of time. Each piece is completely unique, from the painterly textures and colour palette, to their hand cut feathers and fancy hairdos.

I make a variety of flowers and animals, though owls are a clear favourite. I find them beautiful, with their majestic calm and elegance. My sculptures are designed to bring cheer to your décor, evoking the joy of nature inside your home.

Commissions are most welcome- I love designing new things! I am a very seasonal maker, so new work is often added to my collection inspired by blooms or birds I have seen on a walk through the woods.
