I studied Surface Pattern design and Textiles, specialising in Print. I have worked as a Textile Designer, and in product development of printed and woven fabrics, and wallpapers.
I am now a Designer Maker, I work from my home studio in rural Leicestershire. My work is both delicate and decorative. I combine print and pattern with colour and texture and natural objects, and use my silversmithing skills to create mixed media artworks, Jewellery and mixed media metalwork sculptures in Silver, Copper, Brass and recycled Tin mounted in wooden plinths.
I love to draw wild flowers. I have sold original pencil and water colour flower drawings to Liberty for their Art Fabric designs: 'Josephine's Garden' & 'Irma' for Spring/Summer 2013 & 14 fabric collections.
For the last twelve years I have worked on commissions to design and hand block print bespoke decorative glass cooker splashbacks, which have featured on Channel 4’s ‘Grand Designs’ with Kevin Mc Cloud, and ‘Britain’s Best Homes’ on tv with Sarah Beeny. Using the same technique, I now design and make hand block printed shadow frames.
Commissioning a piece of work is really exciting – it is a chance to have something made especially for you and an opportunity to really engage in the creative process.
Perhaps you need accessories to go with a particular outfit or a piece of furniture to fit a specific space in your home. We can work with you to design something truly unique. You’ll be able to discuss your ideas, likes and dislikes with the Maker and together create a piece of craft, handmade for you.
This is just a first step, so don't worry, there’ll be plenty of chances to discuss details before finalising a commission.
