Faye is an award winning designer who creates striking art jewellery exploring the possibilities of surface and material contrasts.
Originally trained in textiles, and with over thirteen years’ experience designing highly tactile fabrics for fashion and interiors, she now applies her perpetual curiosity for surface and materials to create bold pieces of jewellery that investigates the properties of manmade and natural materials through construction and embellishment.
Every piece is handcrafted in her Yorkshire workshop and created in a very intuitive way, allowing natural materials such as damar, propolis and wood to be playfully merged with manmade materials such as rubber, formica and precious metal. She has always been a collector of materials that pique her interest and has amassed a large and varied collection of found, discarded and under celebrated materials to explore form and surface within her work. Battling with found colours along the way only adds to the challenge of combining components that differ in weight, structure and origin into an intriguing wearable object which is tactile and harmonious.
***We're looking forward to having Faye's exciting new collection very soon.
Commissioning a piece of work is really exciting – it is a chance to have something made especially for you and an opportunity to really engage in the creative process.
Perhaps you need accessories to go with a particular outfit or a piece of furniture to fit a specific space in your home. We can work with you to design something truly unique. You’ll be able to discuss your ideas, likes and dislikes with the Maker and together create a piece of craft, handmade for you.
This is just a first step, so don't worry, there’ll be plenty of chances to discuss details before finalising a commission.
