Since graduating in 2011, I worked full-time for ceramicist Lisa Hammond. The time I spent working within a busy studio pottery gave me a real appreciation of the skill behind making functional pots. I now work from a pottery studio in rural Devon, Kigbeare Studios & Gallery, where I create my own range of slipware.
My work is thrown using red earthenware clay which is then decorated with slip, oxides and sgraffito; a technique where I etch into the slip to reveal the clay body underneath.
Originally I studied fashion and textiles, so my love of print and illustration give a contemporary look to a traditional ceramic process. The illustrative decoration is abstract, organic and with lively motifs. I strive to produce everyday ceramics that can be used and enjoyed by others.

Commissioning a piece of work is really exciting – it is a chance to have something made especially for you and an opportunity to really engage in the creative process.
Perhaps you need accessories to go with a particular outfit or a piece of furniture to fit a specific space in your home. We can work with you to design something truly unique. You’ll be able to discuss your ideas, likes and dislikes with the Maker and together create a piece of craft, handmade for you.
This is just a first step, so don't worry, there’ll be plenty of chances to discuss details before finalising a commission.
