Alice Heaton - Glass artist. AAH Design.
I am a Cheshire based designer working primarily with hot glass. Taking inspiration from nature, I produce richly colourful and dynamic individual blown sculptural pieces. I gained a First Class Hons in Design Crafts in 2016 at De Montfort University.
Inspiration is taken from organic forms in the natural world with a focus on movement allowing me to create dynamic forms. Colour is applied ‘in the moment’ as with a painters brush so it’s bright and fun, this links to the prints I also develop.
I have shown my work at ‘The Great Northern Contemporary Craft Fair 2017’ where I won the Best New Business award from madebyhandonline, at ‘One Year On’ New Designers 2017; ‘Rising Stars’ New Ashgate Gallery 2017; ‘Emerging Designers’ Hatfield House 2017, Leeds Craft Centre & Design Gallery, 2017; Spring Showcase 2017 and ‘Talent 16’, Craft Central; Leicester Society of Arts, New Walk Museum & Gallery 2016 and 2017; ‘Coast’, Shire Hall Gallery 2016; Graduate Fashion Week, 2016.
***We're looking forward to having more of Alice's work again soon.
Commissioning a piece of work is really exciting – it is a chance to have something made especially for you and an opportunity to really engage in the creative process.
Perhaps you need accessories to go with a particular outfit or a piece of furniture to fit a specific space in your home. We can work with you to design something truly unique. You’ll be able to discuss your ideas, likes and dislikes with the Maker and together create a piece of craft, handmade for you.
This is just a first step, so don't worry, there’ll be plenty of chances to discuss details before finalising a commission.
