Abbie Gaiger is a jewellery designer and maker based in Birmingham. She graduated in 2016 with a BA (Hons) in Jewellery Design & Related Products from Birmingham School of Jewellery, with her graduate collection being awarded runner-up of the RBSA Gallery Prize for Innovation & Creativity. Following a year at the School of Jewellery as an Artist in Residence, Abbie has continued to develop her unique designs from her studio in Birmingham's historic Jewellery Quarter.
Abbie designs and makes bold fashion jewellery based on geometry, symmetry and patterns found within mathematics. She combines digital processes such as laser cutting with traditional skills, while incorporating techniques such as her distinctive colourful dip-dyed acrylic. Her product range includes pendants, necklaces, earrings and brooches - all of which are statement-making and unconventional, while remaining wearable, playful and colourful.
Commissioning a piece of work is really exciting – it is a chance to have something made especially for you and an opportunity to really engage in the creative process.
Perhaps you need accessories to go with a particular outfit or a piece of furniture to fit a specific space in your home. We can work with you to design something truly unique. You’ll be able to discuss your ideas, likes and dislikes with the Maker and together create a piece of craft, handmade for you.
This is just a first step, so don't worry, there’ll be plenty of chances to discuss details before finalising a commission.
